Nutmeg Butter Fingers
Area 5 Spring Meeting, Ellsworth, ME  2010
 

1 cup butter
sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
tsp. nutmeg

Cream butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla, then add flour and nutmeg.  Shape dough into fingers.  Bake at 350 13-15 minutes.  Cool then frost

Frosting:

cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsps. rum flavoring (the lady who gave us the recipe used real rum)
2 cups confectionary sugar
2 tbsp. light cream (she used milk)

After fingers are frosted, sprinkle nutmeg on top.

 
It is an old recipe from
Land of Lakes found inside a box of butter in the late 60's.
