Book contains 12 patterns of Marie Webster’s original appliqué designs. You ask who is Marie Webster? The book says she is the leader of the Great Quilt Revival of the early 20th century from the years 1909-1925.

American Patchwork & Quilting by Better Homes and Garden published 1985  NEW 7-12

Give a general overview of quilting from learning to piece to painting and quilting the design.

Blockbuster Quilts by Margaret J. Miller published 1991  NEW 7-12

The book takes traditional patterns blocks and assembles them in new ways. It is not so much a pattern book as it is a book about design concepts and changing angles to create a different look.

Classic American Quilt Collection of Schoolhouse, The by Rodale Quilt published 1995 

Has all kinds of schoolhouse quilts from small to big sizes.

Color the Quilter’s Guide by Christine Barnes published 1997

This book goes way beyond Color Wheels. All you ever wanted to know and not know about color. Covers triads, polychromatic, luminosity, and split complements. Also has patterns that deal with using a lot of color in quilts.

Fast and Free DVD by Patsy Thompson 

Our first DVD showing us how to free motion quilt, how to prepare the quilt, and do a number of different patterns.

Friendship Quilt Book, The by Mary Golden

Original designs by 20 quilters from all over none of which I recognize. All in black and white with templates.

Great American Quilts Book 3 Published 1983

Quilters from around the U.S. submitted a quilt, patterns included. Resource for Rusty Hedrick’s Folding Quilt Frame. Quilters Sue Nickels and Freddy Moran have quilts in this book.

It’s A Wrap by Susan Breier published 2006 

Want to make beautiful bowls, baskets and purses out of fabric. The book give detailed instructions on how to do this.

It’s A Wrap II by Susan Breier published 2010 

This is a continuation of her first book It’s A Wrap includes plates and rugs.

Landscape Quilts by Nancy Zieman and Natalie Sewell  published by Leisure Arts 2001 

As many of you know Nancy is Nancy’s Notions. The book talks about large landscape scenes mostly of wooded areas and gardens.

Liberated Quiltmaking II by Gwen Marston published 2010 

The author says that certain groups have a natural ability to produce liberated quilts. This book tries to get us out of comfort zone so we too can produce more liberated quilts. 

Living With Quilts by Phyllis George published 1998  NEW 7-12

Mrs. George is a former First Lady of Kentucky. This book is a decorating book showing how rooms are enhanced with quilts.  This is a fun book just to look through.

Make Room for Quilts by Nancy J. Martin published 1994  NEW 7-12

A decorating book with lots of ideas on hanging quilts in different rooms.

More Quilts from the Quiltmakers Gift by Joanne Larsen Line published 2003 

The book advertises itself as a book of 19 traditional patterns maybe so but I have not heard of most of them. The fish, tea leaf, cobweb, hither and yon. Want something different try this.

Pieced Borders the Complete Resource by Judy Martin and Marsha McCloskey published 1994  NEW 7-12

Ready to use patterns and easy techniques for finishing your quilts with pieced borders. Want little log cabins in your border this is the book for you.

Poster Quilts by Patrick Lose published 2009

Has quilts in a size suitable for posters, flags, wall hanging. They covers all of the holidays as well as birthday and Autumn. All the patterns are included in the book.

Quick–Cut Basket Quilts Published 1998

A small book with 4 patch and 5 patch baskets.

Quick Kids Quilts by Juju Vail Published 1999

Along with Baby and Kid Quilts are beaded bags, toys, sleepers and diaper bags.

Quilt Digest, The by The Quilt Digest Press published 1985  NEW 7-12

This is a revision of the 1983 book. It is a journal where quilt lovers can offer their thoughts and discoveries on both antique and contemporary quilts.

Quilts from My Garden by Karen Snyder Published 2008

A delightful book to view. Not to informative about quilts but has nice recipes and gift items like pot holders, beach tote, pillows, eye glass case, table runner, pincushion, sachet all with garden designs.

Quilts from the Smithsonian by Mimi Dietrich published 1995  NEW 7-12

Twelve designs inspired by the textile collection of the National Museum of American History. Has patterns for you to help recreate the quilts into mostly wall hangers.

Sensational Sets & Borders by Rodale Press published 1998 

Has useful information about quilt tops with lots of hints for getting them straight the first step to getting your borders straight. It shows all kinds of borders to put on your quilts.

Simple Pillows by Sunset Pillows

Beautiful pillows, shams, cushions, and chair pads. Excellent instructions and diagrams.

Star Quilts by Mary Elizabeth Johnson Published 1992

Good book with patterns for 30 quilts all with stars. Hard Cover with great photographs and all the usual suspects including the Seven Sisters named after the constellations.

Sunbonnet Sue’s Neighborhood by Oxmoor House published 1996  

Book shows how to make sunbonnet sue type quilts. Has many variations including a cute American Indian sunbonnet sue.

That Dorky Homemade Look by Lisa Boyer Publication Good Books 2002 

A book of humor on quilting. Lisa titles herself the Erma Bombeck of quilting. Good for a rainy day of reading.

Tulip Quilts by Eleanor Burns Published 1991

This is from the Quilt in a Day series show. Tulip quilts, dust ruffles, pillows, etc.

Vivacious Curvy Quilts by Dianne S. Hire published2010 

Nontraditional, unlikely quilt shapes and improvisational methods using curves. Mrs. Hire will be doing a workshop for us in August, 2012. If you want to get ahead of the game see this book.

Winning Ways to Make Quilts by Connie Hester Published 1992

General instructions with a lot of patterns in the back of book. Want a goose, a mouse, this is the book for you.

Wonder-Under book of Christmas Creations, The by Leisure Arts Publication © 1997

This is not called Wonder-Under for nothing. It’s loaded with patterns and instructions for Christmas Gifts using Pellon® Wonder-Under® and Transfer Web and Fusible tape. Also has some extra gift ideas for the holiday like a cute gingerbread boy pillow, a star shaped rug which I will try out, and a fireside picnic basket for those who want to eat on the floor in front of the fireplace!!!!
