Smokey Mountain Stars Workshop
with Bonnie Hunter, Feb. 2007

Back to Workshops Index

Twenty-one members and guests met this month to make Smokey Mountain Stars lap quilts―probably the easiest star quilts we ever made.  The pieced block units themselves are traditionally know as "Indian Hatchet" blocks!  Several who attended the workshop will be giving quilts made today as Christmas gifts in December to residents at Calais Methodist Homes, where we hold our meetings.  Dana Bard, of Moose Island Quilting, has offered to machine quilt at no charge donated quilts made at this workshop.  More pictures of Smokey Mountain Stars quilts are on January 2007 Show & Tell and February 2007 Show & Tell pages.

Thank you to "the other" Bonnie Hunter of www.quiltville.com
for the inspiration for the workshop.
