Unless otherwise noted, workshops and meetings take place at the Calais Methodist Homes Recreation Hall, Sunrise Circle, Palmer St., Calais, Maine (all times are US times).  Remember to pre-register and get a supply list for workshops you're interested in.

All workshops are open to the public as space permits; pre-registration is a must.

2019

September 4 Wednesday daytime workshop, 9 am to 3 pm   NOTE NEW TIME

Feztival of Trees Open Sew for members who will be helping Mary Ann and Anita make homemade ornaments and gifts for St. Croix Quilters tree.  Contact one of them for further details. 
September 7 Saturday workshop, 9 am to 4 pm

Atlantic Flyway (Part 2) created by Deb Tucker will be taught by Bonnie Hunter and Joanne Spencer.  Using 2 workshops, a Wednesday in August and a Saturday in September, you will learn two new techniques for making Flying Geese (one using Deb's Wing Clipper I Ruler) while making a lovely wall quilt.  Atlantic Flyway is named for the migratory path of waterfowl, shorebirds, and songbirds of the North American East Coast.

September 18
Wednesday Business Meeting, 6 pm

The program will be How to Use a Slotted Ruler with Mary Ann O'Brien

We'll also have a 2-minute tip, Show & Tell, Fabric Drawing, and light refreshments.

October 2 Wednesday Evening Chat and Sew, 6-8 pm

Have a UFO (or two) that needs some attention?  Join your quilting sisters for a evening of sewing on your own projects, sharing ideas and fellowship. 
October 5 Saturday Area 5 Fall Meeting, hosted by St. Croix Int'l. Quilters at Calais Methodist Homes Rec. Hall, Palmer St, Calais, ME

What to bring:
     Bag lunch, desserts and drinks will be provided
     Show & Tell
     $3 registration fee

Plans for the day:
     11 am     Meet and greet
     11:30     Lunch followed by Area 5 update by Linda Throckmorton and Show & Tell
     1 pm      Program will be a Trunk Show with special guest, Carolee Withee.

If you would also like to bring rolls of paper towels to donate to Sarah's House in Holden, it would be appreciated.
October 16
Wednesday Business Meeting, 6 pm

The program will be Mosaic Quilts with Joanne Spencer.

We'll also have a 2-minute tip, Show & Tell, Fabric Drawing, and light refreshments.

November 2 Wednesday Evening Chat and Sew, 6-8 pm

November 6 Saturday workshop, 9 am to 4 pm

Happy Villages created by Karen Eckmeier will be taught by Lynda Duplissea.  Your project will measure approximately 16" x 16" and can be made in a day.  Raw-edge fabric shapes are collaged, lightly glue-based, and machine stitched with a layer of tulle to prevent fraying.  Lynda will have lots of ideas inspired by real life villages or create one from your imagination.  Supply List
